XDT100-200: Driver And Traffic Safety Education Lecture Portion

UPDATE: THE SUMMER PROGRAM WILL BEGIN ON JULY 8TH AND WILL END ON AUGUST 5TH. ALL CLASSES WILL RUN MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY ON THE AMMERMAN CAMPUS IN SELDEN. ONLY ONE ABSENCE IS ALLOWED. Suffolk County Community College offers high school students a non-credit, state-certified Driver and Traffic Safety Education program. This program consists of 25.5 hours of classroom instruction and 25.5 hours of behind the wheel training and observation. Those who successfully complete the program will receive the MV-285 Student Certificate of Completion, issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. The MV-285 allows students with a NYS Junior Permit to schedule a road test, receive their senior license at the age of 17 instead of 18, and may be eligible for a rate reduction in their automobile insurance. Effective July 1, this course will be offered in-person, on the Ammerman Campus in Selden.
