Students will participate in online instruction to develop career skills for the Health IT workforce. This program includes:
- Practice Management and Electronic Health Record Online Simulation
- Population Health
- Value Base Care /Patient Centered Care
- Care Coordination and Interoperable Health IT System
- Health Data Analytics/ Health Records and Administration Data
- Inputting Health Records, Past Medical, Surgical, Family and Social Histories
- Financial Management: Insurance Billing and Function
- Privacy, Security, Confidentiality and Legal Issues in the Practice
- Compliance Support Utilizing the EHR Database
- Resume Writing and Career Coaching
Graduates of this program will receive a certificate of completion in Health Information Technology from Suffolk County Community College Department for Continuing Education and are prepared and eligible to take the exam to be a Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS).

If you file your complaint with Suffolk County Community College, you must wait either until the college issues a written Notice of Final Action, or until 90 days have passed (whichever is sooner), before filing with the Civil Rights Center (see address above).
If the college does not give you a written Notice of Final Action within 90 days of the day on which you filed your complaint, you may file a complaint with CRC before receiving that Notice. However, you must file your CRC complaint within 30 days of the 90-day deadline (in other words, within 120 days after the day on which you filed your complaint with the college).
If the college does give you a written Notice of Final Action on your complaint, but you are dissatisfied with the decision or resolution, you may file a complaint with CRC. You must file your CRC complaint within 30 days of the date on which you received the Notice of Final Action.
